Maciej Saktura was born in Koło, Poland, 1992. He studied at Lodz University of Technology, where he obtained his MSc. under the guidance of prof. Tadeusz Gajda in 2016. Upon graduation he decided to change his scientific interests to organocatalysis and started his Ph.D. studies under the guidance of Łukasz Albrecht at the same University. His current research focuses on the application of asymmetric organocatalysis in cycloaddition reactions, and functionalization of polyene systems. Beyond chemistry his biggest passion is music. He plays in a rock band on electric guitar. Furthermore he collects various rock, jazz and electronic music vinyl records and CD’s. Books enthusiast.
