Joanna Hejmanowska was born on December 31, 1987 in Radziejów. She studied chemistry at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and graduated from organic synthesis in 2012.Upon graduation she decided to continue her work in the field of organocatalysis and started her Ph.D. studies under the guidance of Łukasz Albrecht at Lodz University of Technology. Her main research interests are asymmetric organocatalysis, dienamine and trienamine activation, recently also enantioselective synthesis of organosulfur compounds.
