Welcome to Łukasz Albrecht’s research group website!
Asymmetric catalysis is highly important and fascinating field of research in the contemporary organic chemistry as it provides access to a wide variety of optically active molecules. Research in the Albrecht group focuses on the development of new synthetic methodologies employing small, chiral organic molecules as catalyst of various stereodifferentiating reaction. Main research topics involve the stereocontrolled synthesis of biologically relevant molecules and designing of new organocatalysts or organocatalytic activation modes. The understanding of mechanisms of organocatalytic reactions based on kinetic and synthetic techniques with particular emphasis on the application of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is also an important aspect of our research.
